MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Deputy Director of Operations with the formulation/review of IRC Sierra Leone policies and procedures relating to logistics and Security. Direct management of IRC Freetown Logistics staff; Supervision/support to IRC field Logistics staff; Management of vehicles/generators motorcycles; Procurement/ Supply Chain; Stores and Assets Management; write monthly logistics reports. Monitoring performance of procurement staff in Freetown and field sites and provide feedback. Ensure that personnel involved in purchasing are adequately trained for their roles and are aware of their responsibilities. Perform international procurements through maintaining relationships with New York team. Manage range of actions and documentation required for importation and exportation of International orders, ensuring Customs Exemptions are obtained and customs clearance of goods done. Ensure all Procurement Files are complete, correct and have the relevant signatures before they are submitted to the finance department for payment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for organizing the dispatch and delivery of goods and for staying in touch with other managers in the supply chain process to ensure the management and delivery of stock runs efficiently, and is well coordinated. Ensuring the safety of all items and materials whilst in the stores, i.e. protecting them from theft, damage and deterioration. Ensuring that stock is issued in the correct order/sequence i.e. "first-in-first out" so that older stock is not allowed to deteriorate by being kept too long in the stores. Maintaining records showing the movement of items into and out of the stores, controlling and monitoring those movements and maintaining records of the items in the stores. Work closely with Clearing Agents and Customs authorities for the speedy clearance of both food and non-food items.
