He previously worked for World Vision International Sierra Leone (WVSL), Dalan Development and Management Consultants as a Study and Project Coordinator. Jamil is highly skilled in overseeing the coordination of research activities - including training, field data collection, mobilization, and community engagements. He has participated in multiple research projects in multifarious sectors such as health, education, WASH, good governance, gender issues, and adolescent development.

I have been part of a team in managing and conducting research activities for several research projects for key institutions in Sierra Leone: Focus 1000, Dalan Development Consultants (DDC), JENNA Consulting, Innovations for Poverty Actions Sierra Leone (IPA), etc. My research experiences have involved in a wide range of audiences including pregnant women, school children, teenagers, health professionals, policymakers, Ebola Survivors, community leaders, women’s leaders, religious leaders, and media institutions.

I have undertaken pivotal roles in managing several research and evaluation projects which included developing and evaluating campaigns such as the baseline and end-line studies on: Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices studies on Ebola in 2015; studies on Breastfeeding and weaning; studies on malnutrition, vitamin A supplementation and deworming by Montrose; assessment of community health workers (CHWs) for the Global Fund in Sierra Leone; exploratory Study on Child Marriage for the Global Programme to End Child Marriage for UNFPA in November 2018; Study coordinator for the Strengthening the Prevention & Management of Under-Nutrition Through an Integrated Approach - Moyamba with IRISH AID through Action Against Hunger (AAH) Sierra Leone, Mobile Technology for Community Health Workers in Sierra Leone with World Vision Sierra Leone. Given my passion for research, I am knowledgeable in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Apart from being an experienced qualitative and quantitative data collector and analyst, I’m also savvy in designing survey tools using Kobo-Collect, Google Platform, survey CTO, and quality-assuring transcripts to ensure data quality. I can analyze data using software applications or packages such as Excel, and SPSS, including the use of Pivot Tables. He is an excellent team player with good communication skills. He is familiar with almost the geographic scope of the country (Sierra Leone.)
